My commute from the near west side of Madison to the University of Wisconsin campus is a 10 minute ride by the direct route. For nearly 30 years, I've frequently done a longer route early in the morning in the spring and summer. This route starts to the northwest, reaching Lake Mendota Drive at Capital Ave., then following the lakeshore to the east through the university campus. Traffic becomes unpleasant unless I start out before 6 AM, but there is enough light then from April 7 to September 9. These photos are from June 18, 2007.
